What Twelvespeed does
A bike or an e-bike is a big purchase, and prices differ a lot between shops and between promotions. Twelvespeed puts them side by side. Each product has a single page with all its versions: frame size, wheel size, battery and colour, each with its own EAN code or the manufacturer’s model number.
A price belongs to exactly one version: we never compare a 53 cm frame with a 57 cm one, or a 500 Wh battery with a 625 Wh one. We only show shop prices once we have checked them for the exact version; if the version isn’t unambiguous, we show no price rather than guess.
Independent
Twelvespeed doesn’t sell anything and isn’t affiliated with the brands on this site. We use brand names to describe what is in the catalogue, not to suggest a partnership.
The order of products and prices is not for sale.
Not a test lab
We don’t test bikes, helmets or locks ourselves. We show what the manufacturer states, such as the frame size, the number of gears, the motor, the battery capacity, the weight, a lock’s ART stars and a lamp’s lumen. Whether a bike fits you depends on your height and riding position; if in doubt, take a test ride and look at the shop’s returns policy.

How we earn money
Twelvespeed is free and sells nothing itself. We earn affiliate commission: if you follow a link to a shop and buy something there, that shop pays us a share of the purchase. These links run through an address on Twelvespeed that starts with /out/.
The price you pay at the shop stays the same: the shop pays the commission, not you. How much commission a shop pays plays no part in the order of products and prices.
How we compare
- Exact products: a price belongs to exactly one version, identified by its EAN or the manufacturer’s part number. If that is not clear-cut, we show no price rather than guess.
- Only real price drops: we only call a price a drop when it is lower than the same shop’s lowest price in the 30 days before.
- In stock first: offers you can order now are listed above sold-out ones.
